A Safety Message From the Executive Director

We are beyond thrilled to welcome everyone back to the Museum this month! With that excitement comes a sense of responsibility to keep our guests and staff safe.

As Executive Director, I take this responsibility very seriously and wanted to make sure that visitors understand the thought that has been given to this matter.

We are all optimistic that the worst of COVID is behind us. It has taken far too many loved ones from countless families close to home and throughout the world. With the vaccines, we have hope and are now starting to see life return to some sense of normalcy. While there is so much to celebrate, there is still a lot unknown.

For this reason, we will continue to require all guests to wear masks when inside the Museum. This excludes children under 2 years of age. When visiting our garden and outdoor space, a mask is not required if you are vaccinated.

This policy allows us to offer a safe and welcoming space to families with children who are not currently eligible to be vaccinated as well as to individuals who are unable to get vaccinated for medical reasons.

I am optimistic that one day in the near future, we can lift the mask
requirement safely.

Additionally, we have taken many other safety precautions. We have installed an iWave air purifier, which can remove viral particles from the indoor air, upgraded our bathrooms with many auto/touchless features, added sanitizer stations throughout, and we will continue to do a safety screening of all staff and visitors upon arrival. The addition of our e-ticketing software system with timed reservations will also offer the ability to control the number of visitors in an area and less time standing in line or at the front desk.

I hope that you understand the reason why we need you to continue to wear your mask, even if vaccinated. And I thank you for helping us keep the children safe, as well as those who are unable to receive the vaccine due to medical issues.

Thank you for learning more about a visit to the Monmouth Museum - we can't wait to see you!
