The Wonder Wing is a children's play and educational area designed for children ages 6 and under. The under the sea themed wing features a puzzle corner, treehouse to climb, stage area for imaginative play, lighthouse to explore, ship to steer, rope bridge, whale slide, arts and crafts room, and reading nook.
Becker steam Wing
The Becker Wing has been reimagined for children of all ages to enjoy. The Wing brings science education to life as all sections are deeply rooted in the disciplines of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
The Wing features fossils, a dinosaur exhibit with a replica toddler T. rex skeleton, dino nest, Coelophysis dig, a paleo lab with digital microscope, an aquaponics system, a horseshoe crab exhibit, and a multimedia room.
The second floor is now the Garrett Reisman Center for Air & Space. Named for a native New Jersey astronaut, the Center aims to inspire children to explore science and spark creative thinking. The exhibit features Reisman’s NASA flight suit, NASA artifacts, such as an Apollo glove and helmet, as well as Lego models of the ISS, Saturn 5 Rocket and Lunar Lander. Children can also create at the constellation tables, go inside a replica Friendship 7 capsule, sit at the busy board controls of our spaceship, learn about gravity hands-on, "fly" in our search & rescue helicopter and more!
ART & SCIENCE WORKSHOPS
Complete your tour or group visit by adding on a workshop with a skilled teaching artist or professional. Or simply visit us just for a workshop! Ranges from $15 to $45 per person depending on the medium/subject which can be catered to your group's interest.
Art workshops are hands-on and study one particular artist and their signature style. Participants will then create their own masterpiece inspired by the artist studied.
Science workshops focus on a hands-on demonstration and experiment. From creating an animation scope to making slime or germinating seeds and harvesting lettuce, guests will enjoy learning their lesson plan in an interactive way!
