Native Americans of NJ: Family Workshop - Living Like the Lenape

As part of the Monmouth Museum's exhibit Native Americans of New Jersey: Past and Present, specialized community workshops will be led by members of the tribal communities represented. Join us for a series of workshops for all ages all summer long!

Don't miss the final workshop in our Family Workshop series! Join educator Jim Moran for an interactive journey into the world of the Lenape. Through

storytelling, artifact exploration, and hands-on activities, participants will learn how the Lenape lived, worked, played, and cared for their communities. Guests will examine traditional tools and artifacts, discover how food was gathered and prepared, explore the importance of nature in Lenape culture, and create a traditional corncob doll inspired by toys made by Lenape children. Along the way, Jim will share stories and insights that bring the history and traditions of the Lenape to life. This family-friendly workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the skills, traditions, and everyday life of New Jersey’s Indigenous people through engaging, hands-on learning.
