MUSEUM STATEMENT
Founded by the Monmouth County Arts Council in 1979, the Annual Juried Art Exhibition has been a core part of the Monmouth Museum for more than forty years. Since the Museum took full sponsorship in 2011, the exhibition has expanded significantly, drawing regional, national, and international submissions. Artists from Japan, Russia, Lithuania, Israel, and Germany have participated in what has become one of the Museum’s most diverse and anticipated showcases of contemporary art.

The Monmouth Museum is excited to announce that submissions will open in January for one of our longest-running and most beloved traditions, the Annual Juried Exhibition. Now entering its 46th year, the exhibition continues to bring together an inspiring and diverse range of contemporary artists from across the region, the nation, and the world.
About the theme:
"A time within a time"
​This year’s theme, A Time Within a Time, invites artists to reflect on the many layers of experience that shape our lives. Chosen by Juror Monica S. Camin, the theme explores the moments that sit inside other moments, the memories that define us, and the ways we understand the passage of time. Artists are encouraged to think deeply about the relationship between past, present, and future, as well as the transformations, emotions, and histories that live inside these timelines.

Monmouth Museum proudly continues this long-standing tradition, supporting both emerging and established artists while encouraging bold ideas and new perspectives.
JUROR: Monica s. camin
This year’s juror, Monica S. Camin, brings a deeply thoughtful and conceptually rich perspective. Her artistic practice explores time, memory, and emotional landscapes, making her uniquely suited to guide the selection.
Monica S. Camin is an Argentine-born fine artist based in New Jersey and Texas. She offers progressive views and diverse perspectives to the Museum Board—not only as an artist but as the daughter of immigrants. She believes cultural education is important to bring our communities closer to one another, and wants minority voices to feel both seen and heard. Her multidisciplinary work in painting, sculpture, and textile art has been exhibited nationally and internationally, reflecting themes of ancestry, displacement, and cultural memory.
Monica’s cross-cultural experiences and artistic vision bring a unique and valuable voice to the Museum’s leadership. In 2023, Monica received the Artistic Leadership Award at the Monmouth Museum Masquerade Ball, a celebration of our 60th anniversary. She continues to be an advocate for immigrant voices in contemporary art and remains active in fostering dialogue around memory, identity, and community through her creative work.
Installation: Jenn Hampton
Installation will be led by Jenn Hampton, co-owner and creative director of Parlor Gallery. Jenn is known for her creative eye, dynamic installations, and ability to bring an exhibition to life through thoughtful placement and flow within the gallery.​

• $30 for the first artwork submission
• $10 for each additional submission (up to 3 additional works)​​
eligibility
• Open internationally to artists age 18 and older
• All visual arts media accepted except photography
• Photography is not eligible
• Monmouth Museum held a juried photography exhibition in Fall 2025 and expects to continue that series in 2026
• Work must be original and created within the last five years
• Work may not have been previously exhibited at the Monmouth Museum
• All accepted artwork must be for sale NO EXCEPTIONS
• Museum commission: 30 Percent • Artist receives 70 Percent

• Required Materials
• Contact information, including Instagram and Facebook handles
• Artist abstract, maximum 200 words, describing the concept and connection to the theme
• Artwork details including title, medium, dimensions, year, and price
• JPEG images, 300 dpi, maximum 3000 by 3000 pixels
• Filename example: Ideas_1_Acrylic_24x36_2023_$2000

• Maximum of four artworks per artist
• Acceptance is not guaranteed
• The Museum may reject delivered work that differs significantly from submitted images
• Wall-mounted works must not exceed six feet in any direction
• A sculpture weight limit will apply
• Sculptures must fit through a standard doorway and be structurally sound
• Sculptures must stand securely or include proper support
• Installations may include light or digital media elements if safely installed
• Submissions should relate to the theme, including ideas of time and life from its beginnings to today
• Mixed media entries must list all materials
• Video artists must supply display equipment
• Overflow accepted works may be placed in the Nilson Gallery and Gift Shop
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
• Wall-mounted works must not exceed six feet
• Sculptures must fit through a standard doorway and may not exceed ten feet
• A sculpture weight limit applies
• Sculptures must stand solidly or include needed support
• Proper wiring required for all hanging works
• No sawtooth hangers
• Artwork must remain installed for the full exhibition NO EXCEPTIONS
IMPORTANT DATES

• Notification of Acceptance: Friday, February 20, 2026
• Artwork Drop-Off, In Person: Monday & Tuesday, March 9 & 10, 2026, 10 AM to 4 PM
• Shipping Deadline: Monday, March 10, 2026, 4 PM EST • FedEx, UPS, DHL only
• The Museum cannot accept inbound shipments from the United States Postal Service, USPS
• Exhibition Dates: March 15 to May 10, 2026
• Opening Reception: Sunday, March 15, 2026, 4 PM to 6 PM
• Artwork Pick-Up: Monday, May 11, 2026, 10 AM to 4 PM
• Late fee begins May 15, $10 per day
SHIPPING AND LIABILITY
• Artists are responsible for shipping costs and transit liability
• A prepaid return label with a barcode is required
• Inbound shipping must use FedEx, UPS, or DHL
• Outbound return shipping may use FedEx, UPS, DHL, or USPS
• The Museum cannot accept inbound USPS deliveries
• The Museum is not responsible for artwork left after May 15, 2026
• Artwork left more than one month after the pick-up date is considered abandoned
