This Sunday, the Monmouth Museum will celebrate the opening of a powerful new Main Gallery exhibition featuring nearly 60 local New Jersey artists whose works respond to themes explored in The Bias Inside Us, a Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit opening this weekend at the Museum.
On Sunday, August 10th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, visitors are invited to experience an inspiring range of perspectives, media, and stories brought to life through the vision of artists from across the Garden State. The exhibition emerged from a public call for art and was curated by acclaimed mixed-media artist Bryant Small, with installation led by Jenn Hampton of Parlor Gallery. Together, they’ve transformed the Main Gallery into a vibrant conversation on identity, inclusion, and the biases that shape our communities.
Special features include a cozy reading nook right inside the gallery, stocked with thoughtfully selected titles that complement the themes of the exhibition—offering visitors a space to pause, reflect, and deepen their engagement with the artworks and the Smithsonian’s message.
This opening is free and open to the public—a perfect opportunity to see world-class art alongside the voices and visions of our local creative community.
